Dr Dimitrios Paschos was born in Thessaloniki. He completed his secondary education at the Experimental School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He then studied Medicine at the Medical School of the Aristotle University and graduated in 1998 after having completed a year at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium as an Erasmus student.
In 1999 he moved to the United Kingdom to train in Psychiatry. In 2005 he became member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists of the UK and since 2008 he has been appointed as Consultant Psychiatrist at Guy's Hospital in London working for the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
He has specialised in the mental health of people with Intellectual Disabilities. His research interest focuses on the clinical care of people with Intellectual Disability and mental health problems and on psychiatric stigma. Since 2005 he has been the senior Secretary of the Hellenic Medical Society of the UK.
Dimitrios is married to Christina, a paediatrician.
