The Hellenic Bioscientific Association in the USA is an association initiated in 2005 by a group of Bio-scientists of Greek origin or descent who are based in the USA and are occupied either in Academia or industry. Approximately 250 members from 30 states of the USA have joined this endeavor so far.

The HBA-USA was granted tax-exempt status under the section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.

The major aims of the HBA-USA are:
1. Strong scientific interaction amongst the Greek and Greek-American Bio-scientists in the USA.
2. Scientific and educational collaboration of the Greek and Greek-American Bioscientists from the US with Greek Universities and research institutes.
3. Improved communication channel among Greek Bioscientists on new developments regarding the professional or the educational field of Bioscience.
4. Organization of scientific and cultural events.

An advisory board, which consists of exceptional members of the Greek-American and the European academic community, is cooperating with the Board of Directors in order to establish a strong association and accomplish our major tasks.
